Disney Plus changed my life

This week I was all set to write a blog post about all the things I learned from an incredible presenter at the Power of Success event that was a couple of weeks ago. It was going to be much like the blog post I wrote last week about learning to not negotiate with myself from Mr. Tony Robbins.

However, this week life changed. Things are different. Things are happening.

Let me tell you about one of the biggest days, I think, in the 2019 history of not only my life, my family, but a lot of families in North America. It’s been a big, big week! I am speaking of the fact that Disney+ (Disney Plus) launched this week on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, and let me tell you, I don’t think I have been ever so excited for some sort of entertainment program to be launched.

What Disney Plus means for my family

My family is huge fans of the Marvel Universe as well as the Star Wars Universe, not to mention all of the fantastic Disney TV shows that are sitting in my PVR because my kids have recorded a whole bunch of episodes for the last four years. I’m excited because I can sweep my PVR clean as all these awesome shows are now available on Disney Plus.

Disney Plus Changed my life

I am currently paying for satellite, Fibe, cable, Prime and Netflix. You might be thinking, “Sara, when do you have time to watch television?” Well, here’s the thing, I don’t “watch” television, movies or programming. I listen while I do other tasks. But it has to be something I love, and it has to be something good. That is why I have all these different platforms, because finding that certain show can be difficult.

I am really happy because now I don’t have to search for all my Marvel movies. They’re all in one spot. I also don’t have to search for all the Star Wars movies. They, too, are all in one place. I don’t have to go through a thousand Gravity Falls recordings on my PVR to find an episode that I recorded.

Besides all of the above, here is what I love about Disney+.

One Week Free

I love the fact that they have a one-week trial so you can try it free for a week.

Unbeatable Pricing

The price that it is right now, which I believe is $8.99/month or $89.99 for the year, friends… I went all-in on this baby, and I bought the entire year, without the free trial.

Let me tell you how easy it is to setup. I have a smart Samsung TV, and it is super easy to go into the Google app and download the app onto the TV, just like downloading the app onto my phone. Both devices were up and running in less than three minutes. Honestly, it took me longer to type Disney Plus into my television, using the remote, which is the hardest part, by the way.

No More Monitoring with Disney Plus!

One of the things I love about Disney+ is that I don’t have to monitor what my kids are watching because I’m comfortable with anything that Disney has put out under the Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and National Geographic brands. I’m excited for them to get started and watch some of the shows that I watched, like Darkwing Duck and the original Duck Tales. Yes, my friends, the ducks are on Disney, along with so many other 1980s, 1990s and 2000s Disney TV shows.

From Start to Finish

I’m excited to watch Captain Marvel save the world, diving into the history of Ironman with the trilogy, and watching the story of Captain America unfold. We can also can sit down and watch Star Wars from the prequels through to the new movie that is coming out in theatres soon!

New Superhero Movies

Another thing I am looking forward to is the fact that all of the “less popular” heroes are getting movies and miniseries. Superheroes like Wanda and Vision, Hawkeye, Falcon and even Loki…I can keep going, but I think you should get Disney Plus so you can watch for these and others yourselves.

Re-invention of Family Time

I’m excited for what is coming, and I can’t wait to jump in and enjoy them with my family. We finally have TV shows that all six of us love. Shows that all six of us want to watch. We are actually (lovingly) fighting over what to watch first. This is much different than the annoying sound of, “There is nothing on!”

Marvel Disney Plus

My Favourite Disney Plus Feature

One of my favourite features is if you start a Disney Plus movie on your phone and you pause the movie or shut your app down and then open the movie on another device and choose that movie to watch, Disney Plus starts the movie where you left off on your phone. That, to me, is unbelievable. No more fast-forwarding to where I left off, equals a time saver for this time management junkie!

What did I watch (listen) to first?

The first movie I ended up watching was Captain Marvel. I am sure you are not surprised. The second movie I ended up listening to, because I didn’t really watch it, was The Rookie. And then last night we enjoyed the first episode of the Star Wars The Mandalorian. We were bummed when it was over as there was only one episode, but I guess they are running this miniseries like a television series, so we will see another episode in the coming weeks.

Star Wars Disney PlusI have never been so excited about entertainment. I look at all the movies that are on Disney Plus and I begin to think about how much money I have invested in Disney by taking my family of six to the movies to see all these blockbuster hits. Now, I can watch all of them for pennies. Disney Plus has done a remarkable job. They’ve kept this so well priced. The value is incredible.

So, if you haven’t checked out Disney Plus and you’re a massive Disney fan, I would highly recommend you give it a go and here’s a link: https://www.disneyplus.com. Please know that I am not affiliated, nor am I getting paid for this blog post. I just want to write about it and share why I love this one over other programming platforms.

PS As I wrap up writing this blog post, my son is watching Star Wars in the living room, and I can hear another son watching Marvel in his bedroom… this Mama is a happy girl!
